The first edition of our Whole Grain Day celebration generated considerable noise and received significant media coverage, including articles in the Parliamentary Magazine, Eurativ, and New Food Magazine.
The social media campaign run through the WGI Twitter and Instagram accounts garnered significant activity throughout November 2019: more than 86k Twitter engagements (with 4600+ likes and 300+ retweets), and more than 1.5 million people reached (including 24k+ clicks and 60k+ daily impressions). International Whole Grain Day also offered an opportunity to consolidate stakeholder engagement, with many companies and trade groups offering product samples to expose consumers to delicious whole grain foods. These partners included: Delhaize, Barilla, General Mills, Lantmännen, PepsiCo, Fazer, Nestlé, and Patroba Family Bakers.
